MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage is considered an extension of complementary and integrative medicine. Research continues to demonstrate massage to be an effective treatment for reducing chronic stress, pain and muscle tension. Massage provides the opportunity to release emotional trauma. In this way, body work is a great complement to other therapies, supporting the work of psychotherapy, mindfulness, and other treatments that work to heal emotional trauma and support overall well-being.

I specialize in the following massage interventions:

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

This technique involves applying gentle sustained pressure to restrictions in the myofascial system to eliminate pain and restore motion.

SWEDISH

This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.

DEEP TISSUE

This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.

TRIGGER POINT

This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
